Philippine Culture Night & Filipino American Studies Awards Dinner
Join the Filipino Cultural Association and Asian American Studies in celebrating the new Filipino American Studies program at the University of Maryland, College Park!
Who: The Filipino Cultural Association (FCA) is a student-run organization formed in 1978 designed to increase awareness of Filipino-American culture as well as strengthen the unity among its members through cultural, academic, athletic, and social programs. The mission of the Filipino Cultural Association is to promote awareness and education of Filipino-American culture for the University of Maryland community.
What: Philippine Culture Night & Awards Dinner for Filipino American Studies
When: Saturday, April 12, 2008 at 5:00 PM
Where: Grand Ballroom, Stamp Student Union, University of Maryland College Park
Why: FCA will be hosting their annual Philippine Culture Night featuring an awards ceremony recognizing the accomplishments made in the establishment of Filipino American Studies and honoring local influential Filipino Americans. In honor of their contributions to the Filipino American campus and local communities, FCA will be awarding three awardees for leaving a legacy important to Filipino American Studies. The first two awardees of the Filipino American Studies Scholarship will also be announced. The night will be comprised of a traditional Filipino dinner along with the awards ceremony, cultural and modern dances, and musical and theatrical entertainment. It will be held in the Grand Ballroom of the Adele H. Stamp Student Union at the University of Maryland.
